Barrett, The Honors College – Arizona State University – Tempe, Arizona
Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University, opened fall 2009 and is visioned as a high-aspiring, high spirited and distinctive campus within a campus. The Barrett community is part of ASU’s attempt to create an area that promotes excellence and interaction among students.

The layout of the Barrett complex groups the college administration, faculty offices and classrooms around the College Court, signifying the academic importance and dedication of the college. The Barrett community offers housing to 1,730 students and feature its own amphitheater, computer lounge and lab, classrooms, outside activity courts and dining hall with covered terrace, garden and special dining rooms for events. There are four residential communities: two for freshmen and sophomores; and two for upper-class students, juniors and seniors. Each community is arranged around its own court, and the courts are progressively more private as the student groups advance in maturity.

The Barret Honors College is LEED® Gold certified and features a sustainable living community, with low-consumption plumbing fixtures, enhanced energy monitoring, a green roof and an organic garden offering students the opportunity to study and experience sustainable living concepts.

This project was built in collaboration with IKON.5 Architects.
